Paul Smart

Greetings!

 I am Sensei Paul Smart,

A 4th Dan Blackbelt in the Torii Jujitsu Kai  style that we teach at Crayford and Gravesend Dojo’s. Trained by Shihan Keith Power 7th Dan, Founder of the Torii Jujitsu Kai and previously trained in the Shu Ho association run by Sensei Colin Elgie 8th Dan.

I have been training at Jujitsu Since I was 19, and wish I had discovered it earlier, I have found it a great confidence builder, and it has opened my mind to the world around me, I love this art as it teaches respect, humility and understanding, leaving no room for arrogance, at this juncture in my life there is no separation between me and Jujitsu, the one is the other and I am grateful for this.

I have a strong belief that learning a self-defence martial art, though it has serious connotations, should be taught in a relaxed, welcoming, fun and friendly environment and this is what we strive for at Crayford and Gravesend Dojo, if it’s fun you’ll learn more, and hopefully want to come back!

I have always found going to the gym repetitive and it can get boring, but in Jujitsu you will find yourself always learning which is a great motivator, even now barely a session passes where I do not learn something new.

Thanks for visiting our site and I hope you enjoy having a look around, if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact myself or any of the other Sensei on this site and if you like what you see I truly look forward to seeing you in the Dojo. And remember:

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step – Lao Tzu (604BCE – 531BCE)

I look forward to taking that first step with you!

Sensei Paul.
